| Obverse description | The stylized Polish eagle of the People's Republic, displayed with wings spread and head turned to the right, occupies the central field. The eagle is rendered in a bold, modernist engraving style characteristic of the period. The date 1980 is divided on either side of the eagle, with '19' to the left and '80' to the right.
