| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a modernist allegorical composition designed by Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz, depicting two stylized high-rise residential tower blocks in the upper field, rendered in a geometric, angular relief style symbolic of socialist urban development. Flanking the base of the towers are sheaves of wheat extending outward across the lower field, representing agricultural production. The large denomination numerals 20 appear prominently in the centre, with the currency abbreviation ZŁ below. The word PRÓBA, indicating trial or pattern status, is inscribed vertically to the left of the towers in the field. |

Trial strikes from Polish state mints in the early 1970s were produced to test alloy compositions and die performance ahead of approved production runs, not for circulation. This CuNi version of the 20 Złotych was never sanctioned for release — the issued 1973 type went out in brass. A handful of these proof-category trials were distributed among NBP officials and retained in institutional collections, which explains why survivors appear almost exclusively from Polish or Eastern European auction sources.
