| 正面描述 | The Polish state eagle displayed in the center of the field, rendered in the socialist-era stylized form with wings spread and head turned to the right, without a crown. The circular legend reads POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA (Polish People's Republic) around the periphery, flanked by two raised dots. The mint year 1989 appears in the lower portion of the field, with the MW mint mark positioned to the left of the date. |

Trial strikes (próby) from the Mennica Polska in the late communist period occupy an odd documentary role — produced not for circulation but to test dies and blanks as Poland's economic situation deteriorated beyond the point where new circulating coinage made practical sense. By 1989, the zloty was in freefall, and denominations that might have seemed reasonable when a design was commissioned were already near-meaningless by the time trial pieces were being struck. Most próby from this period were produced in very small quantities, typically a few dozen pieces at most, distributed largely to mint archives and select collectors through official channels.
