Obverse description The obverse features a large relief reproduction of the historical 30-groszy Gdańsk zloty of Augustus III (1762), depicting a heraldic lion rampant to the left and an eagle displayed at centre, with a Teutonic cross on the shield, surrounded by the legend GENT.CIVIT.GEDANENS. and the date 1762, along with the mint marks R, E, and Œ. Overlapping the historical coin in the lower right field is a smaller inset circle bearing the Polish state eagle — the crowned White Eagle — with the legends RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA, the year 2020, the mintmark MW, and the denomination 20 ZŁ. Floral and foliate ornamental devices fill the surrounding field, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof background.
