The date 1981 is divided on either side of the eagle's lower body, with '19' to the left and '81' to the right. The denomination '20' in large numerals occupies the lower portion of the field, flanked by the currency abbreviations 'ZŁ' on each side. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' (Polish People's Republic) runs along the upper rim in Latin characters, interrupted by a raised dot at each terminus.
