Issued to commemorate the Senate of the reestablished Polish Republic, this coin incorporates genuine Baltic amber — a material with deep regional significance, as Poland and the surrounding Baltic coast have historically dominated global amber supply. The amber inclusion is set into the coin during striking, a technically demanding process that limits production consistency and makes fully intact examples harder to find than mintage figures alone suggest.
