| Obverse description | The obverse features the Polish state eagle — the crowned white eagle with wings spread, rendered in high relief — positioned in the upper centre of the field. To the upper right appears the denomination '20 ZŁ'. The lower portion of the field depicts a stylised perspective view of the tiered seating of the Senate chamber, with rows of desks receding toward a rostrum visible at the left. The curved legend 'RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA' arcs along the lower right rim, while the year '2004' appears in the lower field. The mintmark 'MW' is incorporated into the design. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a bold heraldic composition dominated by the crowned White Eagle of Poland — the Mazovian or Senate eagle — depicted in high relief at the left of the field. To the right stands a stylised architectural element representing the Senate mace or sceptre, flanked by a fleur-de-lis finial at the top, with a genuine Baltic amber cabochon set into the shaft of the mace as an inlay, glowing with a warm golden hue. The legend '15-LECIE SENATU III RP' is inscribed in the left field, arcing along the rim, commemorating the 15th anniversary of the reestablishment of the Polish Senate of the Third Republic. The finely frosted proof surfaces provide strong contrast against the polished field. |
