| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field features the Polish crowned white eagle displayed, facing forward, with wings spread, rendered in a stylized national heraldic manner. Surrounding the eagle, arranged in a circular pattern, are the Roman numeral XXX and the dates 1944 and 1974, denoting the thirtieth anniversary of the Polish People's Republic. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA runs along the outer rim, separated by lozenge-shaped ornaments. The denomination ZŁ 20 ZŁ appears prominently at the lower portion of the field, flanking the base of the eagle motif. |

Trial strikes from the Polish People's Republic mint rarely surface in Western collections, having circulated almost exclusively within institutional channels — submitted to monetary committees, filed in state archives, or retained by mint officials. This 1974 piece predates the social upheavals that would eventually force monetary reforms, issued during a period of relative Gierek-era economic optimism built largely on Western credit that Poland spent the following decade desperately trying to repay.
The Fischer and ParM cross-references suggest at least two documented variant states for this trial, pointing to more than one submission stage before production approval.
