| Reverse description | The reverse presents a richly layered commemorative composition evoking Poland's path to freedom. At centre, an intaglio-rendered vignette of two hands raised in the Victory sign rises above the bold red logotype 'Solidarność' (Solidarity), set against a photographic underprint of a mass gathering with shipyard cranes in the background. To the left, an engraved bell in a black-and-gold chequered pattern stands before a stylised building façade; at lower centre, a silver coin vignette displays the Polish Eagle. The issuer title 'Narodowy Bank Polski' and denomination 'DWADZIEŚCIA ZŁOTYCH / 20' appear at upper left and upper right respectively, with the Polish flag rendered in the corners. The bottom legend reads 'Pamięć dziejów ojczystych decyduje o tym, kim jesteśmy.' Printer credits appear at lower right. |

Issued to mark the eleventh anniversary of the Smolensk air disaster, this collector note honors Lech Kaczyński, the Polish president killed on 10 April 2010 when a Polish Air Force Tu-154 crashed near Smolensk, Russia, killing all 96 aboard — a delegation traveling to commemorate the Katyń massacre. The subtitle, "Warto być Polakiem" ("It Is Worth Being a Pole"), was a phrase associated with Kaczyński during his presidency.
Engraved by Przemysław Krajewski at PWPW in Warsaw, the note was issued as a legal tender collector piece rather than for general circulation. PWPW has produced this category of commemorative zloty notes regularly since the 2000s, and the series is closely followed by Polish collectors.
