Obverse description The obverse features a dramatic depiction of stratified rock salt formations rendered in high relief, evoking the geological character of the Wieliczka salt mine, and occupying much of the field. At centre, the crowned Polish eagle — the national emblem — is struck in relief against the layered rock background. The denomination '20 ZŁ' appears to the right, and the date '2001' is inscribed below the eagle. The curved legend 'RZECZPOSPOLITA' runs along the upper periphery, with 'POLSKA' positioned along the lower rim.
