| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is printed in blue-grey and olive tones, with a central cartouche in an ornate art nouveau frame bearing the issuer name in script, the denomination in large letterpress text, and the date "WARSZAWA D. 1 MARCA 1926 R." alongside three manuscript signatures. Flanking the cartouche are two allegorical figures in intaglio — a male figure to the left and a female figure to the right — set against a fine guilloche background. The "BP" monogram cipher appears in circular medallions on both inner lateral margins, with denominal numerals "20" repeated in each corner. |

Bank Polski's 1926 series was printed by the American Bank Note Company in New York — an unusual choice for a newly reconstituted Polish central bank, but one driven by capacity constraints at European printers in the post-WWI reconstruction period. Poland had only reestablished its own currency infrastructure a few years prior, following the brutal hyperinflation of the early 1920s that had destroyed the Polish marka and necessitated the zloty reform of 1924.
The ABNC's involvement left a visible trace: the engraving quality is notably finer than contemporary European-produced Polish issues, and the paper stock differs accordingly. Collectors should note that the series is prone to foxing along the margins due to the interaction of the American paper with central European storage conditions.
