| Reverse description | The reverse, rendered in full selective gilding, presents a large right-facing draped bust of King Sigismund III Vasa, depicted in elaborate armour with richly decorated pauldrons and a lace collar, in the baroque style characteristic of early 17th-century royal portraiture. The king is shown with curly hair and a short beard, his powerful effigy dominating the field in high relief. The arc legend along the upper rim reads SIGISMVNDVS·III·D:G:, reproducing the abbreviated Latin royal style of the original 100-ducat prototype. Along the lower field, a curved inscription reads 100 DUKATOW ZYGMUNTA III, identifying the commemorated historical coin. The design faithfully evokes the artistry of the Bydgoszcz Mint master who struck the celebrated 1621 original. |
