Reverse description	The reverse presents a colorized commemorative composition marking the fifth anniversary of Russian recognition of South Ossetia. At upper center, a stylized document tablet inscribed with the Cyrillic legend УКАЗ ПРЕЗИДЕНТА РОССИЙСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАЦИИ О признании Республики Южная Осетия is depicted, surmounted by the Russian state emblem. Behind it, a silver relief map of South Ossetia occupies the central field. In the lower half, the national flags of Russia and South Ossetia unfurl in color to either side of a centrally placed upright sword. The dates 2008 and 2013 flank the map, and the Ossetian inscription МАЙРӔМЫ МӔЙ 26 (August 26) appears in the lower field, all set against a polished black background.
