Poland's 20 Złoty series has been in continuous circulation since the 1994 redenomination, when the złoty was reintroduced at a rate of 10,000 old to 1 new. This 2024 dating places it among the most recent issues in that long-running series, updated periodically by PWPW to refresh security specifications without overhauling the underlying design family.
PWPW has printed Polish banknotes domestically since 1919 — one of the few national security printers in Europe with that length of unbroken institutional history on home soil.
