| 背面描述 | A finely detailed high-relief effigy of a striped hyena (Hyaena hyaena) is depicted in a standing three-quarter pose occupying the right and center of the field, its characteristic coarse fur and body markings rendered with naturalistic precision. The animal faces left with its head turned slightly toward the viewer, its tapered tail lowered. The legend 'ÇİZGİLİ SIRTLAN' is inscribed in a curved arc along the upper left periphery of the mirrored proof field. The plain lower field provides a stark contrast to the frosted sculptural relief of the animal, emphasizing the depth of the strike. |

Turkey's 2005 wildlife series was issued the same year the country formally opened EU accession negotiations — a moment when Ankara was under considerable pressure to demonstrate institutional modernity. The striped hyena (Hyaena hyaena) was a reasonable choice for the series; the animal still maintains a fragile presence in southeastern Anatolia, though habitat loss has pushed it to the margins of its historic Turkish range.
Mintages for these wildlife issues were kept deliberately low, and the series attracted more collector interest abroad than domestically.
