Obverse description Central design features a detailed depiction of the Taedong Gate (East Gate) of Pyongyang, rendered in fine relief with its characteristic multi-tiered traditional Korean pavilion roofline and stone fortification base. The architectural structure is shown in three-quarter perspective, with decorative rockwork and foliage at the lower field. The circular legend in Hangul script reads along the upper periphery, and the denomination '20원' appears at the base of the design.
