Obverse description Central device depicting a traditional Korean multi-tiered pavilion rendered in fine relief, set upon a stone-walled platform with naturalistic vegetation at its base. The architectural structure features characteristic curved eaves with layered roofing in the Joseon dynasty style. Encircling the upper field, the legend in Korean Hangul script reads '조선민주주의인민공화국' (Democratic People's Republic of Korea), with the denomination '20 WON' inscribed in Latin characters along the lower rim.
