The Latin binomial species name 'EUBAENA GLACIALIS' arcs along the upper legend, while the German common name 'NOEROLICHER GLATTWAL' (Nördlicher Glattwal, meaning Northern right whale) is inscribed along the lower periphery. The year of issue '2001' appears in the lower central field.
