Samoa's switch to polymer for this denomination reflects a broader Pacific trend — several small island nations moved to polymer substrates partly because the high humidity and salt air of tropical circulation destroy cotton-paper notes far faster than in temperate climates. De La Rue has supplied Samoan currency for decades, and the relationship predates independence-era issuance.
TBB#125 is recent enough that secondary market data remains thin. The see-through register — a dual-sided printed element that only resolves correctly when held to light — is a De La Rue production signature appearing across multiple Pacific issues from this period.
