| Obverse description | Central field features the Madara Horseman, a reproduction of the famous early medieval rock relief, depicted in right profile as an armoured rider mounted on a prancing horse, with a lion prostrate beneath the horse's hooves and a dog following behind. The Cyrillic legend БЪЛГАРИЯ (Bulgaria) arcs along the upper periphery of the coin. The design is rendered in low relief, faithfully echoing the UNESCO World Heritage rock carving. |
