Reverse description Four quartered shields of the Royal Arms of Great Britain arranged in cruciform, separated by a radiant star at the centre. The upper-left and lower-right quarters display the lions of England; the upper-right bears the lion rampant of Scotland; the lower-left displays the harp of Ireland; and the fourth quarter bears the arms of Hanover. The circular legend reading M·B·F·ET H·REX·F·D·B ET·L·D·S·R·I A·T·ET·E· surrounds the design, with the date 1758 divided across the upper field. The reverse is the standard type of a British shilling of George II, engraved by Johann Ochs.
