Obverse description Central field displays a lozenge-shaped heraldic shield bearing the arms of La Marck — semé of bezants arranged in rows — surmounted by a princely crown with fleurs-de-lis and cross finials. The shield and crown are rendered in a bold, primitive hammered style characteristic of late 16th-century emergency coinage. A beaded inner border encircles the central device, with the circular Latin legend reading CHARLOTTE DE LA MARCK running along the periphery, separated by a floral rosette stop.
