Reverse description The central design reproduces the historic seal of the Lima Mint (Casa de Moneda), depicting two crowned columns of Hercules rising from stylized waves, bearing the motto PLVS VLTRA on a scroll across the centre, with the mint mark 'P' surmounting the central column and the assayer numeral '8' at the base. The word LIMA arcs across the upper field within an inner circle, flanked by the founding and commemorative dates 1565 and 1965. The outer legend CUATRICENTENARIO DE LA FUNDACION DE LA CASA DE MONEDA encircles the design, separated from the inner circle by dot stops. The rim features a beaded border on both the inner and outer edges.
