Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of William II of Scotland (William III of England) facing left, his long flowing hair falling over his shoulder, rendered in high relief in the baroque style typical of late 17th-century Scottish milled coinage. The denomination numeral '20' appears at the base of the bust in the lower field. The circular legend reads GVLIELMVS · DEI · GRATIA · distributed around the periphery, interrupted by the portrait. A fine reeded border frames the outer edge of the die.
