Somalia's Central Bank has issued a long-running series of small-format gold miniatures under various environmental themes, largely aimed at the collector bullion market rather than domestic circulation. These pieces are struck by foreign minting contractors — the Somali issuing authority functions here essentially as a licensing body, with the coins finding their audience almost entirely in European and Asian collector markets.
The KM# 204 assignment places this squarely within that broader modern Somali collector coinage program, which expanded aggressively through the 2010s.
