Obverse description Forward-facing portrait of President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi at right, flanked by the national arms at centre and a floral vignette at left, all set over a fine guilloche underprint. The bilingual issuer title — CENTRAL BANK OF KENYA and BANKI KUU YA KENYA — appears across the upper register, with the legal tender inscription in both English and Swahili below. The national motto HARAMBEE and the presidential attribution are present, with the authorising signature line for the Board of Directors at lower right.
