| Obverse description | Two conjoined oval shields, surmounted by a princely crown, displayed at center: the dexter shield bearing the cross of the Order of St. John (a plain cross on a plain field), and the sinister shield bearing the personal arms of Grand Master Manuel Pinto de Fonseca. The shields are flanked by laurel branches. The circumferential Latin legend reads F·EMMANVEL PINTO M·M·H·S·S with the date 1764 incorporated into the field to the left of the crown. |
