| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Grand Master Manuel Pinto de Fonseca facing left, wearing a long curled wig, rendered in high relief. The circumferential legend reads F. EMMANVEL PINTO M.M. around the upper field, with dots serving as punctuation. The date 1764 appears in the lower exergue, the two central digits flanking a Grand Master's monogram in the form of an ornate M. The milled edge is visible at the coin's border, framing the composition neatly. |

| Reverse description | The arms of the Order of Malta — a shield bearing the quartered cross of the Order — are superimposed at center upon an eight-pointed Maltese cross, the whole surmounted by a grand master's crown. The denomination numerals S. and 20 appear in the lower left and lower right angles of the cross respectively, dividing the value. The circumferential legend HOSPITALIS ET SANCTI SEP. runs around the field, with a small star ornament at the base. The milled border frames the entire design. |
