Obverse description Conjoined draped busts of Christine of France (regent) and the young Charles Emmanuel II facing right, the regent wearing an ornate headdress and elaborate lace collar, the young duke armored with a richly decorated cuirass bearing heraldic devices. The two effigies are rendered in high relief with fine Baroque detail characteristic of Savoyard hammered coinage. The date 1641 appears in the lower field beneath the busts. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portraits along the periphery of the coin.
