Reverse description The reverse features a square vignette depicting the principal architectural landmarks of the city of Krems: the Steinernes Tor (Stone Gate), the Piaristenkirche (Piarist Church), and the Pulverturm (Powder Tower), set against a stylised stone wall and the characteristic terraced vineyards of the Wachau region. Undulating wave motifs along the left and right flanks of the square symbolise the River Danube, which borders the city. The surrounding legend commemorates the millennial anniversary of Krems's first documentary mention, incorporating the years '995' and '1995'. The engravers' signatures 'C. REITER' appear in the field.
