Reverse description The reverse depicts a tall date palm tree at centre, its trunk rising from a rocky coastal foreground with waves rendered at the base, evoking the island setting of Zanzibar. To the left of the trunk appears the denomination in Arabic script ('سنت'), while to the right stands the numeral '20' in Arabic-Indic and Western numerals. Below the central device, the date '1908' is inscribed in Western numerals along the lower field. A plain raised rim encircles the design.
