Obverse description Central field depicts a detailed relief of the historic Islamia College Peshawar building, rendered in a realistic architectural style showcasing its Mughal-influenced facade with prominent central dome, flanking minarets, arched colonnades, and ornate battlements. The legend in Nastaliq Arabic script arcs along the upper periphery, reading the country name. The denomination '20' flanked by the word 'Rupees' in Urdu script appears in the lower field beneath the building. A beaded border frames the entire design.

Additional information

Islamia College Peshawar, founded in 1913 under the patronage of the Nawab of Dir and with significant backing from the All India Muslim League, was granted university status in 2008 — making the centenary commemorative issue five years later a direct acknowledgment of that transition. The college had served as a recruitment ground for the independence movement and later for the Pakistani military officer class, giving it an outsized political significance relative to its size.

KM#74 is part of a broader Pakistani commemorative rupee program that accelerated markedly after 2009, producing multiple institutional centenary pieces in copper-nickel at this module.
