Comments

Nepal's P#47 series spans the brief and turbulent reign of Gyanendra, who assumed the throne in 2001 following the royal massacre that killed King Birendra and nine other members of the royal family. The listing of both BA International and De La Rue as printers reflects a transitional printing arrangement not uncommon for Nepal Rastra Bank issues of this period, where contracts shifted between suppliers across a single series.

The signature variety distinguishing long and short forms of the Devanagari "R" in "RUPAIYAN" on the reverse is a known collector differentiator for this pick number.
