Obverse description At left, a portrait vignette of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev in ceremonial plumed crown, set within an ornate guilloche border. The central vignette presents the Krishna Mandir temple of Patan (Lalitpur), rendered in fine intaglio line work. At right, a watermark window reserved for the crown watermark, framed by decorative floral and geometric underprint elements.

Reverse description The central vignette presents an intaglio rendering of a Sambar deer (Cervus unicolor) standing in a naturalistic landscape with mountain scenery and foliage in the background, printed in orange-brown tones against a pale ground. The National Coat of Arms of Nepal appears at right, with the circular national seal positioned above center. At lower margin, the denomination is inscribed in Devanagari script at left and in Latin characters at right, reading 'RUPEES TWENTY', with guilloche rosette elements along the bottom border.
