Belarus launched its wildlife conservation coin series in the early 2000s partly as a hard-currency revenue program — collector silver was one of the few export products that could reliably attract foreign exchange. The White Stork holds particular cultural weight in Belarusian folklore, long associated with rural villages and considered a bringer of good fortune, which made it a predictable but commercially sensible choice for the series.
KM#201 is a single-year issue with no reported die varieties of note.
