Obverse description At center, a detailed architectural reconstruction of the Cathedral of St. Sophia as built during the reign of Usyaslau of Polatsk is depicted in relief. The State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus appears in relief at the top of the field. A circular legend around the upper rim reads 'РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ' (Republic of Belarus), while the lower portion of the coin carries the year of issue, alloy standard 'Ag 925', and the face value '20 РУБЛЁЎ' (20 Roubles).

To the left of the effigy, a stylized wolf figure is depicted against a solar disk, symbolizing the legendary supernatural abilities attributed to the prince. Along the left rim, the inscription 'УСЯСЛАЎ ПОЛАЦКІ' (Usyaslau of Polatsk) appears in Cyrillic, accompanied by the dates of his reign '1044–1101'.
