20 Roubles St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church

Part of Belarus's long-running architectural heritage silver series, this issue commemorates the St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Kamyenyets — one of the few surviving Gothic brick churches in the region, originally constructed in the late fifteenth century under the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The church endured suppressions under Russian Imperial rule, when Catholic institutions across the western guberniyas faced systematic closure or conversion to Orthodox use following the failed Polish uprisings of the nineteenth century.
