正面铭文 РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ Ag 925 1999 31,1 • ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ •
背面描述 The central design features a relief depiction of the reconstructed gate of the Minsk castle (12th century), attributed to the reconstruction by Yu.A. Zayats, set against the background of the field. In the foreground, the Roman-Catholic Cathedral and a tower bearing a chiming clock, both from Cathedral Square and dating to the early 20th century, are rendered in relief. The city coat of arms of Minsk appears in the upper right quadrant of the field. Rim legends in Cyrillic read 'MIHCK' (Minsk) and 'ГАРАДЫ БЕЛАРУСI' (Belarusian Cities).

附加信息

Belarus issued this coin during a period of severe economic instability — the late 1990s saw the Belarusian ruble lose value so rapidly that the government was simultaneously printing banknotes in denominations of millions while issuing commemorative silver pieces priced far beyond ordinary reach. The National Bank leaned heavily into collector coinage during these years partly as a hard-currency revenue mechanism, since foreign buyers paying in dollars or deutschmarks provided reserves the domestic economy desperately needed.

KM#30 is one of several 1999-dated silver issues from Minsk, a year when the mint's commemorative output expanded sharply.
