Beschrijving keerzijde A detailed botanical study of Botrychium simplex (Least Moonwort) occupies the entire field, divided into contrasting light and dark halves to highlight different morphological features of the plant. The left half, on a frosted background, depicts the plant's characteristically lobed sterile frond with delicate venation and clustered sporangia, while the right half, on a mirror-polished background, shows a broader fan-shaped frond, a fertile spike bearing globose sporangia, and additional botanical detail. The Latin binomial BOTRYCHIUM SIMPLEX arcs along the upper border, and the Belarusian Cyrillic name ГРАЗД0ЎНІК ПРОСТЫ curves along the lower border.

Aanvullende informatie

The Least Moonwort (Botrychium simplex) is among the smallest and most elusive ferns in the Northern Hemisphere, easily overlooked in the field and consequently understudied for most of botanical history. Belarus included it in its ongoing silver conservation series as a species listed in the national Red Book — the country's official register of threatened flora and fauna, a Soviet-era institution still maintained by post-independence Belarusian authorities.
