| Reverse description | Left-facing bust portrait of the Belarusian writer Ivan Shamiakin occupies the left and central portion of the field, rendered in fine detail with a suit and tie. Behind the portrait to the left, manuscript text in Cyrillic script is visible in the background, evoking handwritten pages from the author's literary works. To the right of the portrait, radiating lines emanate from the lower right, creating a sunburst effect. A vertical band at the right margin carries the Cyrillic inscription 'І. ШАМЯКІН 1921-2004', denoting the subject's name and life dates. |

| Additional information |
Ivan Shamiakin was one of the most widely read Belarusian Soviet authors of the postwar decades, his novels circulating in millions of copies across the USSR during the 1950s through 1970s. This issue marks the centenary of his birth in 1921. Shamiakin was a rare figure in Soviet Belarusian letters — a writer who managed to address wartime trauma and rural life with enough candor to earn genuine popular readership, without fatally antagonizing censors.
