| Descrizione del dritto | At the top of the coin, the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus is rendered in relief, encircled by the legend РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ. The central field features an oval shield bearing a stylised sword — its handle and tip projecting beyond the shield's contour — with a raised central device depicting a globe bathed in the rays of a rising sun, overlaid with the outline of the territory of the Republic of Belarus. The inscription МУС (Ministry of Internal Affairs) appears at the base of the shield. The denomination 20 РУБЛЁЎ, the year 2017, and the fineness designation Ag 925 are inscribed in the lower field of the coin. |

Belarus has maintained a dedicated internal security force distinct from its regular military since independence in 1991, and the militia — rebranded as the "police" in most post-Soviet states but retaining its Soviet designation in Belarus until a 2017 renaming — was a persistent fixture of Lukashenko's administrative conservatism. This coin was issued the same year the militia officially became the politsia, making it something of a commemorative farewell to a Soviet-era institutional name.
