正面描述 The national emblem of Tajikistan, rendered as a circular vignette, is positioned to the left, set within decorative scrollwork. At centre, an ornate guilloche medallion carries the Tajik denomination inscription within a lobed cartouche, flanked by fine lathe-work underprint in pale green and lavender. The denomination numeral '20' appears in two further panels — an upper-right cartouche and a lower-left panel with a red guilloche sunburst — as well as a small rosette to the lower right; the date '1994' is incorporated into the lower border ornament.

备注

Tajikistan's 1994 rouble notes were a stopgap. Following independence and the collapse of Soviet supply chains, the country initially continued using Soviet and then Russian roubles — but exclusion from the Russian ruble zone in late 1993 forced a hasty domestic issue. These notes circulated for barely a year before the somoni predecessor, the Tajikistani rouble series, was itself replaced by the dirham-denominated somoni system beginning in 2000.

The series was printed by Goznak's former client network, and the paper quality reflects the economic constraints of the period. High inflation during the Tajik civil war (1992–1997) meant low denominations like this 20-rouble note became functionally worthless almost immediately upon issue.
