| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features a central circular cartouche enclosing the Hijri date (١٣٣٨ or ١٣٣٩) rendered in Arabic-script numerals, surmounted by a multi-pointed star in the upper field. Radiating Arabic script fills the surrounding field in a dense, calligraphic arrangement, carrying the legend denoting issuance by the councils of Khawarezm and the denomination of twenty manats. The overall composition reflects the hybrid Soviet-Islamic aesthetic characteristic of early Khorezm coinage, with irregular flan surfaces typical of the period's primitive striking conditions. |
