Obverse description Right-facing intaglio portrait of Reza Shah Pahlavi in military uniform occupies the right portion of the note, with a central vignette of the Lion and Sun emblem enclosed within an ornate frame. A panoramic view of Persepolis ruins appears in the lower centre, flanked by column guilloche borders on each side. The bank name in Persian script is printed across the upper centre, with the denomination numeral '20' repeated in the upper corners and serial numbers in both Persian and Western numerals appearing twice at top and bottom.

Reverse description The central vignette presents a large intaglio landscape of the Savadkuh railway viaduct spanning a deep mountain gorge, rendered in fine engraved detail with rocky valley walls receding into the background. The bank name in Persian script is inscribed across the top, with the denomination repeated in Persian script in each corner. Ornate floral and geometric guilloche borders frame all four sides, and a large unprinted circular area to the right serves as a watermark zone.
