| Obverse description | Central field displays a multi-line Arabic inscription reading the titles of Ottoman Sultan Abdulmecid I, set within an elaborate wreath of stylized foliage rendered in high relief. The inscription is arranged in flowing Tughra-influenced calligraphy, occupying most of the coin's face. The wreath branches sweep outward symmetrically from the base, framing the legend on all sides. The reeded border is visible at the coin's periphery. The overall design reflects the Ottoman-influenced numismatic style characteristic of mid-19th century Tunisian coinage. |
