| Reverse description | Central device features the Imperial Brazilian arms: an oval shield charged with an armillary sphere and the Southern Cross, surmounted by the Imperial Crown of Brazil. The shield is flanked by two symmetrical branches — a coffee branch to the left and a tobacco branch to the right — tied at the base with a ribbon bow, emblematic of Brazil's principal agricultural products. A circular legend surrounds the design reading +IN+HOC+SIGNO+VINCES+, the Constantinian motto 'In this sign, thou shalt conquer.' The composition is rendered in a bold, raised relief consistent with early nineteenth-century Brazilian Imperial engraving traditions. |
