Opmerkingen

Metallwerke Holleischen GmbH was a munitions factory operating near Holýšov in occupied Czechoslovakia, and its workforce was largely composed of forced laborers — including concentration camp prisoners transferred from Flossenbürg. Camp scrip of this kind was not wages in any meaningful sense; it was a internal accounting fiction, redeemable only at the factory canteen for a narrow range of approved goods, and designed to create the appearance of paid labor while preventing any real economic agency.

The yellow cardboard construction was typical of Lagergeld produced under extreme material constraints. These pieces survive in small numbers, mostly because there was almost nothing to spend them on.
