| Obverse description | Left-facing effigy of King Fuad I, rendered in high relief, wearing a traditional tarboosh (fez) and a military uniform with decorated collar visible at the truncation. The engraver's initials 'PM' (Percy Metcalfe) appear at the lower truncation. Arabic legend reading 'Fuad I, King of Egypt' is disposed in two vertical columns flanking the portrait, with text to the right and left of the effigy respectively. A fine dentilated border frames the entire design. |
