| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a detailed architectural rendering of the Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo, one of the oldest and most celebrated centres of Islamic learning, depicted in a frontal perspective filling the central field. Three ornate minarets rise prominently above the mosque's façade, with the characteristic ribbed dome visible to the left. The elaborate entrance portal and decorative stonework of the mosque's exterior walls are rendered with fine engraving detail. The design is contained within a beaded inner border and a reeded outer rim, with no additional legend on this face. |

Egypt's 1992 coinage program followed the country's difficult IMF-backed structural adjustment period, during which subsidy cuts and currency reforms reshaped everyday commerce. The 20 qirsh denomination sat at a genuinely useful transactional value during this transition, keeping it in active circulation rather than hoarded.
KM#733 is a relatively short-lived type, superseded by subsequent reformulations of the qirsh series as inflation continued eroding the pound's purchasing power through the 1990s.
