| 备注 |
Northern Bank Limited was a Belfast-headquartered institution with roots going back to 1809, but by the time this note was issued it was owned by National Australia Bank — a fact that sat uncomfortably with both the bank's name and its Northern Irish identity. Banknote-issuing rights for Northern Ireland's commercial banks survived partition and have continued under successive ownership changes, making the issuer's name increasingly detached from its actual corporate reality.
Thomas De La Rue's printing for this series is competent but unremarkable by the standards of their late-1990s output. The cotton substrate was already giving way to polymer trials elsewhere in the British Isles during this period.
